Pool Rules

SARATOGA POOL RULES

These rules have been established and published by your Pool Board so that everyone may enjoy the Saratoga Pool in safety and comfort. If you have any questions about their intent or enforcement, please ask a member of the pool staff or the Pool Board.

I. ENTRY TO THE POOL

You must have a digital photo attached to your member account. Photos will be taken and uploaded the first time you check in at the front desk.
Each paid membership is authorized a set of free guest passes per season as follows: ten (10) per household account. Additional guest passes may be purchased.
You may bring a guest(s) only by using your guest passes. You must remain with your guests at all times while they are on the pool property. You may only bring a maximum of five (5) guests to the pool at a time per family membership.
Children 13 – 18 years old may bring one guest or a sibling with parent’s permission.
Young people of age 18 – 21 may bring up to three (3) guests.
Children under 12 years old MUST be accompanied by an adult or a sibling 13 years old or older.
Children from 12 – 17 years old may attend the pool unaccompanied by an adult if:
- He or she has passed a swim test administered by a certified lifeguard employed by pool management.
- His or her parent or guardian has provided written permission.

2. WITHIN THE POOL ENCLOSURE

Please do not loiter by the front desk.
Please take a shower before entering the pool.
No pets allowed on the Saratoga Pool property or within the pool enclosure.
Bicycle(s) must be properly placed in the bicycle rack outside the pool house.
No wheeled play equipment such as bicycles, skateboards, roller-skates, etc. allowed into the pool enclosure.
No water guns are allowed in the pool.
No basketballs, soccer balls, volleyballs, footballs, tennis balls, baseballs, or any other heavy sport balls except beach balls, sponge balls, are allowed in the pool or inside the pool fenced area.
No acrobatics or other dangerous actions may be performed in the pool perimeters.
No running, chasing, pushing, rough playing allowed on the pool territory (except grassy areas).
No yelling or shouting allowed in the pool enclosure.
No profane language anywhere on pool premises.
You must be able to swim to be permitted use of the diving board.
Only one person at a time is permitted on the diving board.
Please turn your radio down not to disturb other attendees at the pool.
No food or drinks are allowed in or on the edge of the pool.
Drinking alcoholic beverages on pool property is not allowed except at social events sanctioned by the Pool Board.
You may drink non-alcoholic beverages when seated at tables or on chairs 12 feet away from the pool’s edge.
No glass containers are allowed on the pool deck or immediate premises.
Food is allowed within the pool enclosure only in the two picnic areas. All refuse must be disposed of in the trash receptacles provided.
Smoking is allowed only within areas designated for the purpose.
Do not litter at any time.
A fifteen-minute “break” period will be observed during each hour of operation, so that children do not get overtired in the water. When the pool staff whistles and announces “break!” all those younger than 18 must leave the water and may not return to the water until the pool staff has announced the end of break time

Anyone violating these rules will have their pool privileges suspended for the remainder of the day; if the conduct is repeated, his or her pool pass could be revoked for the remainder of the season.

3. BABY POOL AREA RULES

The baby pool is reserved for children 5 years old and under.
No children older than 5 years old can be in baby pool if toddlers are present in water.
Small baby carriages and strollers may be taken inside the baby-pool area when space permits, at the discretion of the pool manager.
Strollers must employ brakes or be strapped to a fence.
If your child is not toilet-trained, a swim diaper MUST be worn.
Parents or guardians must supervise toddlers at all times.

4. ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES

Please report any accident or injury immediately to the lifeguard on duty and/or to the pool manager. First-aid supplies are maintained by the pool staff. Since a written accident report must be submitted by the pool manager, please provide all the information you have about the accident/injury and its cause(s).
Please inform lifeguards or a board member about unsafe activities on the pools grounds to ensure your comfort.

These rules have been established and published by your Saratoga Pool Board and reinforced by lifeguards and Pool Board members.

Private Party Rules

Reservations for pool parties may only be made by pool members. Pool party guests do not have to be members.
All party guests must obey Saratoga Pool rules and guidance. The party host will be fully responsible for any violations of these rules and must stay at the party for the entire duration of the party or until all their guests leave.
Each party is held in a designated area with picnic tables. Food and drinks must be consumed only in your designated area. At no time should food or drinks be taken into the pool.
Music may be played for your event as long as Fairfax County’s noise ordinance is followed.
The Pool does have a large propane grill available; you must bring your own fuel and grill tools to use the pool grill.
You may decorate the area as you please.
Cleaning up the party area, decorations and grill is your responsibility.
All guests must come in to the pool through the designated area.
At check-in, each party participant will receive a wristband to wear. All guests with wristbands will be required to leave at the end of the scheduled party time. Members of the pool can stay as long as they have signed in and given their pool passes at the check-in desk.
Guests must provide their full name, and phone number at check in. This is for your protection as much as it is for the pool staff information.
Finally the last rule: no glass is allowed on deck—period.

The following is an explanation of rental fees:

All fees are required in full at least 10 days prior to the party.
If the party is cancelled due to weather you will be refunded a portion of the fees.
Additional fees for additional time or additional guests are due 24 hours prior to your party.
All parties must be scheduled with the Events Coordinator, not with the lifeguards.
Checks should be made payable to Saratoga Recreation Group, Inc. Once this is received you will be called or e-mailed a confirmation letter.

Our 2024 Private Party rates are:

Parties are held during normal pool hours.

Time allotted: two (2) hours

Designed area: Reserved area with picnic tables.

Cost: Mon. – Thur. is $110.00

Fri. – Sun. is $120.00.

The designated area is yours for those two hours.

It can be rented for a longer duration of time at an additional cost of $30.00 per half hour. The request for additional time must be made prior to the day of the party.

The $110.00/$120.00 fees listed above applies for a two-hour time span. The maximum number of daytime party guests is twenty-Five (25) people. This includes adults and children swimming or not. If you have additional guests it is $60 for an additional up to twenty guests. There is a non-refundable fee of $35.00 if your party has to be cancelled due to weather conditions. If you would like to reschedule your party, we will do our best to accommodate your needs and the $35.00 will be applied to your rescheduled party.

Cleaning Deposit:

A $50.00 cleaning deposit is required and will be refunded after the party providing the pool area has been cleaned up by the party guests. Please pay this fee separately by check. The check will be held but not deposited.

Canopy and Grill Use:

Two (2) canopy tents are available for rent at $10 each, or you are welcome to bring your own.

Use of the small grill is allowed, however propane and grilling supplies are the responsibility of the member.

Weather:

Only if the party is cancelled due to weather conditions, will you be issued a refund minus the $35 non-refundable fee. You may choose to reschedule and all non-refunded money can be applied to another date. Rescheduling requires a new contract and approval from the Private Party Coordinator. And Lastly:
SRG would like to remind you and let you know that all the profits from the Private Parties go towards the pool. This money is used for the pool maintenance and pool comfort items. All members of the SRG board, including the snack shop operators (friends of the pool) and the Private Party Coordinator, are volunteers who donate their time and skills to our neighborhood pool without any payment. Please keep this in mind and treat your volunteers kindly.
